Guild Wars 2 Item Upgrade

Item upgrade, also referred to as "upping," improves an item's stats. Each upgrade increment provides a linear increase in any stat.

Players can recycle up to six items at a time in order to gain a level gauge for each of the upgraded components. The cost of recycling an item increases with its rarity and level.

Upgrade components

An upgrade for an item in Guild Wars 2 is a process that can boost the effectiveness of your weapon and armor. This can be done through many different methods, including the use of upgrade components and also increasing an item's mark level or rarity. In addition, many items can be reforged, which can boost their stats even more.

Upgradable items can be found all over the game, both in the world and as rewards for missions. Players can also craft them. The main way to upgrade gear is through the use of upgrade components, which are items that can be inserted into equipment. Most equipment comes with upgrade slots, and most require a certain level of upgrade. Certain upgrade components offer specific bonuses while others provide an overall bonus.

There are many types of upgrade item components available in the game. These include universal upgrades, inscriptions, and jewels. Universal upgrades, like gemstones and enchantments can be placed in any type of equipment and offer less bonuses than those that are equipment-type specific. Glyphs can only be found in gathering tools. They offer a range of bonuses, ranging from boosting the speed of an item upgrader kit's gathering to supplying additional crafting materials.

To upgrade an item, click it in your inventory, then open the Upgrade window. The preview will be displayed on the right-hand side of the screen. It will display the expected stats after the upgrade. The Upgrade button at the bottom will show Blocked if you do not have enough of either.

The amount of upgrade components needed for a particular item can be seen in the upper-right corner of the window for upgrading. The cost of an upgrade increases depending on the level of the upgrade and its rarity, but can be reduced through many different methods, such as buying upgrades at a merchant or trading them with other players.

Most weapons can be upgraded with a prefix upgrade, such as an insignia or a rune, and a lot of them can be upgraded with an upgrade suffix. These upgrades alter the name of the item to add an adjective, like "Radiant" or "Minor Vigor.' The exceptions are the noninscribable wands, shields and foci from Prophecies and Factions campaigns, which are not upgradeable with any kinds of mods in any way.

Glyphs

Glyphs are a powerful instrument for communicating visual information. They move to catch the viewer's attention and spur interest in the brain. The animation of glyphs mimics body language, which makes them more effective in communicating messages across language barriers. Glyphs also create a sense of familiarity in the brain, thereby increasing retention of the message.

Each glyph increases the value of a stat by specific amount. This is shown on the item, when you open it in the Glyph Storage. This range is the maximum value that a glyph can enhance a stat by but not the amount it actually increases it by. The value of the glyph depends on the tier and quality of the item you are in awe of.

Most upgrade components slotted into items are not able to be repaired or replaced without dismantling the equipment in question, with the exception of legendary equipment and upgrades. If you have a rune or glyph you don't want to use, but it hasn't been incorporated to the gear yet, you can transfer the item to another piece by selecting the Upgrade Glyphs menu on the Glyphs Panel. This will create the new Glyph Set with the selected glyph.

You can remove a glyph by using the Black Lion Salvage Kit, or an Ascended Salvage tool. The item where the glyph is installed will be destroyed, however the upgraded item can be recovered using the glyph shards.

The addition of a glyph to an item could cause it to be unstable, and the shards that are left of that glyph will disappear from your inventory once you dismantle the item. You can also apply the glyph on your equipment to provide an extra benefit. Deferred Damage, for example can be used to store damage and be distributed slowly to the wearer rather than all at once. This is beneficial for players who take many hits from enemies, but do not want to be overwhelmed.

Reroll tokens

Reroll tokens can be used to alter the affixes on equipment and weapons. They can be obtained from a variety of sources, such as mysterious boxes, rare drops from skulled monsters, or by killing bosses. Every reroll grants the player a random affix that is typically better than what they had before. Reroll tokens can also be used to upgrade the weapon's stats to increase damage or bonuses.

Rerolled items don't appear in the menu of item upgrades; you can try here,, but they are still able to be upgraded. Rerolled items can be recycled by pressing the "upgrade" button, which changes the appearance of the window and allows up to six items to be chosen to recycle. Recycling an item adds a small amount of points to its gauge of level. The amount is determined by the rarity of the item and its own level, so higher-level items are more useful to recycle than lower-level ones.

Players can also make use of Reroll Tokens and Star Remnants to roll rerolling Weapon Traits for upgraded units. Rerolls roll the % chance of a particular weapon trait. If it rolls higher, the weapon is upgraded. If it rolls lower, it remains the same. Weapons can be rerolled up to three times.

A reroll is a good option to upgrade an item, but players should be aware that it could reduce the overall ilvl the weapon by the number of rerolls used in order to increase it to the final level. This lowering effect is most effective for Diadems and rings, which have no competing ilvl-raising options.

The reroll system has been criticized by players for being expensive, and it would be more fair to let people pay for it with money or a food item that would allow them to change their build without wasting time and energy. However paying for rerolls is not something that the developers would like to implement at this time in the game's development. Instead, they're planning to include an ability to change races in the future.

Leveling

There are a variety of ways to boost the value of an item upgrade. The first is to increase the amount of upgrade which boosts the value of an upgrade items for a given stat. The second is to boost the effect of upgrading that increases the healing or damage of a specific stat. The base item can be upgraded to an advanced upgrade type. Once this is done the new item will retain its iLevel but it will have the upgrade effects of the upgraded item type.

It is important to keep in mind that upgrades can be random. In the majority of cases, a better roll is determined by glyphs. However there are occasions when a more or unique roll could occur. The type of item will determine the iLevel. If you upgrade a rare or unique item to a specific item type, it has a chance of receiving an upper level.

Upgrades can be expensive, especially if you are upgrading your equipment from the standard track to legendary. The cost of upgrading a piece of equipment will depend on the iLevel it's built upon and the number of upgrade levels. Some upgrade tracks also require crests in order to get to the next level.

If you're lucky the upgraded item will be at the maximum level of its upgrade track and gain a bonus effect. This will increase the item's upgrade value. The bonus effect is different with each upgrade level. Generally speaking, the upgrade effect is increased by a value of +3.

The iLevel also changes in accordance with the item's upgrade path and its base level. For instance, an item that is upgraded from being a rare or unique item to an exceptional one can be expected to gain the Enhanced Defence of the new base item.
