Bentley Key 2022

Bentley is one of the few luxury brands who customizes every vehicle, down to the smallest of details. From diamond-shaped LEDs embedded beneath perforated leather doors to knurled finish that resembles the craftsmanship of watches, Bentley's attention to detail is what sets it apart from rivals.

Power

Bentley's W12-powered Speed model is a formidable force to be reckoned with. The Speed can be driven in Comfort mode for a more relaxed drive or in Sport mode to maximize the engine's power and deliver amazing driving performance. It takes around 110 hours to make the Continental GT, 130 for the Flying Spur and around 130 for a Bentayga with more than 60,000 of the components coming from more than 700 companies on five continents. The Crewe factory is known for its superiority in wood, leather and W12 engine manufacture. It is also the world's only manufacturer to achieve the Carbon Trust Triple Standard. The factory produces less than a third waste which is unable to be recycled or reused.

Style

Bentley's parent company, Volkswagen, may have its roots in Germany. However, with decades of experience under their belts the British manufacturer is pretty good in making a halo coupe appear to be a totally different animal. For 2022, the Continental GT is a bit more elegant than its predecessors, and Bentley Key 2022 comes with a luxurious cabin that is awash with custom-made luxury.

With the Speed, Bentley ratchets up the fun factor by introducing an engine that produces 650 horsepower, a version of the W-12 engine, which is a classic, and improvements to its chassis that improve agility. The results make this huge brute feel more agile than ever before, and provide more enjoyment on the road than many buyers will probably think of from a huge car.

Despite the astonishing power numbers, this Bentley still handles corners with the incisiveness which is typical of a car that weighs 2.2 tons. This is due to a brand new steering system that allows the long nose to turn with a ferocity that isn't a reflection of the car's size. It also comes with a variety of air suspension systems to keep the car moving in the direction you prefer.

Technology

Bentley's engineering knowledge is a significant asset when it comes to managing infrastructure projects. However, the business is increasingly relying on technology to meet increasing demand for work. At its 2022 Year in Infrastructure (YII) event, Bentley Systems introduced a series of enhanced products that leverage digital twins and cloud data to enable quicker, more precise design and project delivery.

For example, Bentley's advanced additive manufacturing (AM) system can transform 3D CAD models into physical components. The technology was used to produce everything from on-the-job assisted tools for Bentley's colleagues in manufacturing to historically accurate tooling to restore its iconic woodshop, as well as lightweight sanding block needed to create Bentley cars that were driven in record-breaking time at the Pikes Peak Challenge.

The ProjectWise platform was upgraded by introducing a variety of new features, including the capability to reuse digital components; a broader capability for civil design reviews as well as the capability to conduct a Drive Simulation to test the ability to drive a specific design; and the inclusion of multiple project file formats to one workspace, which facilitates collaborative design reviews. Bentley also introduced the new Bentley Infrastructure Cloud, a collection of integrated solutions that span infrastructure project lifecycles.

The new solutions include an iTwin Bridge Monitor solution that uses drone video and iTwin Capture to provide real-time bridge inspections, as well being able to track and monitor performance through IoT sensors layered on a digital twin; and a Dam Monitoring solution that provides unidirectional access to sensors' information. Bentley is also integrating its iTwin platform with the Embodied Carbon in Construction Calculator (EC3) to assist users meet sustainability requirements.
