If you like walking across a variety of terrains and don't mind getting muddy an all-terrain pushchair would be the best choice. Many have large wheels and suspension making them ideal for rougher terrain than standard pushchairs.

Make sure that the buggy has tyres that are filled with air and good suspension. Make sure that the front wheels lock to increase stability when jogging.

The seat unit can be positioned in both a world-facing and parent mode. The carrycot has been upgraded to be safe for night sleeping. It lifts off the chassis effortlessly - just unclick each side in turn - and there's also a bumper bar that helps you do this all on your own also.

iCandy Swift(tm)

The latest addition to the iCandy range is a true all-terrain buggies with air filled tyres. It is designed to accommodate infants and toddlers, and has three suggested configurations. Liz found it easy to slide the seat and carrycot on and off and the new cushion that was added for head support made her the most happy in either parent-facing or world-facing mode. The only real downside was the fold, which could take some time to get the hang of. When folded, it is able to fit in the car boot of a medium size. Also included are rain covers.

Out and About Swift(tm)

A good all-terrain pram is a must if you love forest walks or more adventurous off road exploits. These strollers are ideal for running with your child, and they can handle kerbs and rough terrain better than traditional pushchairs. Other features to look out for in an all-terrain vehicle are the swivel seat's height adjuster and the suspension that is able to be raised to accommodate a car or carrycot seat. You should also check that the tyres can be changed for puncture-proof ones, which will make it easier to tackle rough terrain and reduce the chance of losing an extra in the middle of the night!

The UPPAbaby Ridge will be a hit with those who are seeking a small, all-terrain buggy but don't wish to buy a huge one. It's a medium-sized all-terrain buggy that is able to manage various terrains.
