Re:Nylon

To celebrate the launch, Prada partnered with National Geographic to create a series of videos titled "What We Carry" that shows the cutting-edge process which is used to make Re:Nylon bags. The first video is a collaboration between Harry Potter actress and environmentalist Bonnie Wright and National Geographic Explorer Asher Jay touring an Arizona carpet recycling facility that transforms old nylon into recycled ECONYL.

With the switch to re:Nylon Prada is making its most significant reduction in virgin nylon use to date, resulting in the reduction of the company 70,000 barrels of oil each year, The Business of Fashion reports. This move will also lower the carbon emissions of the company by about 57,000 tonnes.
