The Combo i5/i5+ features patented Dirt Detect Technology, which helps it pay greater attention to areas that are dirty.

One of the best features of this robot is its automatic emptying Clean Base, which can hold up to 60 days worth of debris and minimizes the need for manual maintenance. It also has the ability to recharge and resume that sends the robot back to its homebase to charge when its battery is low, and it can pick up where it left off, without losing any beat.

While the i5+ is a fantastic robot for most homes It's important to keep in mind that it's not designed for carpeted or stairwells. It also has a limited dust bin capacity, which means it won't be able to clean the entire house when you have a significant amount of debris or pets. Consider the i7 and i9 models if you want a Roomba with more power to withstand tougher environments. These robots can be used to mop wet and are more suited for stairs. The iRobot Combo i5/i5+, with its innovative design and cutting-edge technology is a great option for homes that require both a vacuum cleaner and mop.

This premium model comes with premium features and top of the line performance, which should entice customers away from cheaper competitors. Its edge cleaning is also better than the results we've seen with the budget robot vacuums. It has a great grip at corners.

When the i7+ has reached maximum capacity in its dustbin it returns to its Clean Base, empties the contents and gets itself ready for the next clean. You can add cleaning fluid by pressing a button on one side of the robot. A small water tank or dustbin is then clipped open.

The only downside is that the Clean Base occupies a lot of space. This makes it difficult to keep the i7+ in a cupboard when it's not in use. This is a common problem with robot cleaners, and most manufacturers have smaller charging stations which are smaller. These stations are also usually capable of fitting under cabinets and make it easier to hide your iRobot when not being used. iRobot has reached out to us following publication to clarify that the Combo i7+ is designed to be used only with the manufacturer-approved cleaning solution (sold separately). It is not recommended to use water as this can harm internal components and lower performance.

The iRobot i8 is able to connect to smart home devices and can also work with the iBraava Jet M6, a mop that is set to automatically start sweeping once the i8 has finished vacuuming. The i8 is fitted with a Clean Base Automatic Dirt disposal and an additional HEPA filter.
